Footsteps in Sand - Jan 2012 Reflection

O Lord, as the cold and dark
nights of winter, slowly give way to
longer days and warmer
temperatures, we eagerly await the
promise of what is to come, new life
springing forth again. We give thanks
that the dancing snowdrops and
brightly coloured crocuses breaking
the dark brown earth herald that
spring is coming; we give thanks that
the green fields are coming alive with
the gambolling of new lambs; we give
thanks for the buds beginning to
appear on trees, flowers and hedgerows; we give thanks for early
morning birdsong and so much more,
the overtures of Spring and the
promise of New Life,of day
following night, and of sunshine
following rain. For the times and
the seasons and the wonders of
creation and the promise of life
that it brings, we give you our
heartfelt thanks, O Lord. Amen.
